More information (Spanish) Theme park with more than 60 reproductions of emblematic landscapes and buildings of all the islands in models on scale 1:25, reuniting under the same roof history, culture, art, technology, nature and leisure, within a new thematic concept of great spectacularity. It is designed as an open air museum where visitors can contemplate the most representative architecture, customs and sites of the islands, all in a total surface area of some 20,000 square metres. Another interesting point about this park is its interactive nature: all the attractions are supported by special effects of lighting, sound and movement. ´Vivero Forestal´ and fish hatchery of Aguamansa Address: Carretera La Orotava - Las Cañadas, Aguamansa Telephone: Timetable visits: Monday till Sunday 10.00 - 15.00 Selling of trout's: Monday till Friday 10.00 - 14.00 (Only if present) Free entrance At km 15 is located the old ´Vivero Forestal´ (reforestation location) of Aguamansa, created in 1950 to produce the plants necessary to repopulate deforested zones. Once acted as such, and having obtained the recovery of the pine groves, the centre became oriented towards new uses. It has a fish hatchery, where the process of evolution of the trout's can be observed, Arboretum with 40 species of trees, mainly coniferous, and a unit where wastebaskets are made as well as wood tables and banks to equip the recreational areas of the island and cages for birds that receive specialized attention before being set free again.

Loro Parque

The greatest collection of parrots of the world with 3500 animals of more than 340 (sub)species - the greatest Penguinarium of the world with 170 penguins of the South Pole and tropical penguins - the greatest delphinarium of Europe - sea-lion show - incomparable dolphin show - parrot show - free-flying birds - an aquarium with more than 3,000 different species - walk-through aquarium with ´Surrounded by Sharks tunnel´ of 18 meters long - tiger island - gorilla jungle - bat cave - Chimp land - Naturavision high resolution cinema - Orchidarium - and replicas of a Thai village and a Gambian Marketplace. Loro Parque also has a visit behind the scenes denominated "Discovery Tour" where can be seen what is needed to run the park. The excursion lasts one and a half hour and costs 7 euros for adults and 3.50 euros for children.

Lago Martiánez

Lago Martiánez Avda. Colón s/n Telephone: 922 385 955 Timetable: ticket selling: 10:00 till 17:00, closes at 19:00. Admission: adult: 3,30 euro, child: 1,10 euro. The famous Canarian artist Cesar Manrique (from Lanzarote) created the Martiánez Lake at the border of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a vast and beautiful collection of open air salt-water pools that can be considered both a place of leisure and a work of art. As a union between architecture and nature it combines canary traditional architecture and many original sculptures with exuberant vegetation. This enclave is made up of an artificial lake, of 27,000 cubic meters of seawater, in which several islands are placed. The complex is provided with bars, restaurants and kiosks and is a great place for swimming and sunbathing. Cesar Manrique decorated it with typical natural elements of the island, such as volcanic lava and endemic vegetation: palms, teasels or tabaibas and the dominant mantle of white colour, which, combined with the volcanic stone surrounds everything. The water is renewed daily with seawater.

In addition there is a video show that will explain you the banana cultivation. A scale model of the island shows the irrigation system in Tenerife and you can observe the preparation and packing of strelitzias. In the bar, at the end of the excursion, you can taste banana liquor and savour a naturally matured banana. Every 30 min. a free bus can take you from Puerto de la Cruz (Atlantis hotel), from 9:30 h. to 12:45 h. and from 14:30 h. to 17:45 h.

You can see and photograph every phase of their biological cycle (egg, caterpillar and chrysalis).
